Cancellation of the Cotswold Show and Food Festival 2020

This kind of scene won’t be unfolding this year…

One of the Cotswolds’ much loved Summer events has announced it has cancelled this year’s Show due to Covid-19.

Host and Chairman of The Cotswold Show and Food Festival, Lord Bathurst, said: “It is recognised that it would be impossible, despite it being an outdoor event, to be able to safely implement any social distancing requirements in place at the time; particularly with crowds packed around the arenas along with the bustling marquees.”

See you in 2021!

This is only the second time in over 30 years that the Show has been cancelled, the first being due to the Foot and Mouth outbreak in 2001. Lord Bathurst said: “This has been a difficult decision to make. We have waited as long as possible, whilst in contact with the relevant authorities. With no major changes to legislation around this type of event, and along with many others also postponed to 2021, we know this is the right and responsible thing to do as we have a duty of care to all those attending and indeed working at the Show.”

The weather may be good, but the show won’t run.

Dates have been set for next year on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July 2021. Any trade stand and ticket bookings will automatically be transferred to the new dates.
