Corinium Radio Sep 2020 Hello to all our listeners!

As many of you will remember, Corinium Radio was delighted to receive the Creatives’ Champion Award from the Cirencester Chamber of Commerce some four years ago. Ciren Scene, sponsor of the award, looked to the community to nominate an organisation that “helps the local creative people to showcase their talents” and we were honoured to be selected. We have continued to champion the skills and talent of our volunteers every day of the year through shows featuring music, interviews, or the spoken word and we are so looking forward to introducing our listeners to one of our most recent contributors, Lou Beckett, who has written a play called The Bletchley Girls and adapted it for radio. It was recorded during lockdown, behind closed doors and face-masks, and will be edited and broadcast by Corinium Radio in September so do look out for it.

At Corinium Radio, we take our role in the community extremely seriously. We believe that providing a community radio station, made by you, is one of the most important services a local community can have. Reports in national newspapers during the Coronavirus lockdown estimated that around one third of community radio stations could close but, fingers crossed, Corinium Radio won’t be joining that club, thanks to the support of you, our local community. We need to raise all our funds to pay for licences, rent etc so we are extremely grateful for the help we receive from businesses and Bingham Library Trust as well as all our fantastic volunteers.

If you would like to join us as a Presenter or Studio Technician, or help in any way, please contact caroleboydell@coriniumradio.co.uk or call 07776 144033.

Corinium Radio is an award winning volunteer-led online community radio station, broadcasting from the heart of Cirencester.
