Equity Release interest rates are pretty much at an all time low. This means if you release equity from your home, the amount of interest added each year is often less than the amount of property growth in the same year*. This means the equity remaining in your property starts increasing again.

OPTIONAL REPAYMENTS

Most lenders allow you to make optional repayments to cover the interest each year and/or repay some of the capital sum This allows you to gradually reduce the balance. It’s worth noting that family members can contribute to repayments, this sometimes happens when they have benefited from the equity release!
