Corinium Radio Oct 2020

Lady She

Let me ask you a question – how do you listen to Corinium Radio?

Do you remember the ‘good old days’ when you had to huddle around the wireless to get the news? It was a bit like the photograph here of Sheila, one of Corinium Radio’s volunteer Presenters – except now, of course, it’s called WiFi and you can listen to us at the drop of a hat. Tune in via your smartphone while you are walking or catch up on any device, just search for coriniumradio.co.uk and you can listen to any of our shows on-demand. You can even shout “Corinium Radio” to Alexa and she will find us for you. What could be easier?

Corinium Radio is a not-for-profit community radio station based in Cirencester. We have to raise all our funds ourselvese  – we don’t need a lot but we do need to pay for things like licences which keep us legal! Ofcom (the regulatory body for radio) released some research last month about how people in the UK get their news and, good news for us, just under half of all adults said that the most popular platform for news was the radio – only one third now read print newspapers to find out what’s going on.

Our volunteers and supporters have been working hard over the last few months to bring you our new Corinium Radio website which includes a brand new NEWSpage, incorporating the best of local news, events and information. Tony is the NEWS Editor so, if you want to let more people know about your NEWS, just contact him on tony.coleman@coriniumradio.co.uk

And if you would like to join us as a Local Reporter, Presenter or Studio Technician, or help in any way, please contact caroleboydell@coriniumradio.co.uk or call me on  07776 144033.

Corinium Radio is an award winning volunteer-led online community radio station, broadcasting from the heart of Cirencester.
