Next year will mark The Sundial Theatre’s 25th Birthday, and the team behind the scenes decided that this would be a great lime to give the Theatre a brand new lease of life. With a revamp of the bar area and garden, as well as a massive increase in the events planned, there really will be something for everyone.
For the past 25 years, the Theatre has sat at the heart of Cirencester’s community. II has helped the talent of not only Cirencester College students but the whole of Cirencester; giving them a place to grow and a home to show off their amazing skills.
As well as being a community venue the Sundial has played on the National Stage of live acts, bringing top comedy such as Michael McIntyre and Josh Widdicombe, and live music such as The Fleetwood Mac Songbook to the town. We have organised a fantastic range of shows and we will be announcing many more of these types of events soon.
The calendar for 2022 is hotting up with comedy from the likes of Jenny Eclair and Mark Steel, live music from tributes to greats such as Elton John and George Michael, and not forgetting great family events like the fantastic Top Secret Magic of Science and Spontaneous Potter. We are especially excited for the return of Panto season with our amazing performances of Aladdin this December. Our Spotlight Bar is being redesigned this winter as well as the Theatre garden, so you soon will be able to enjoy your event drinks in a beautiful space before taking your seats to experience an exhilarating night at the Sundial once again.
The team have been working hard during COVID to have everything ready to kick start the new season. In 1997 the theatre boasted ‘a good programme, good parking and comfortable seals’; we can now add a quality bar, fantastic acoustics and top of the range visual effects to that list!
The Sundial Theatre is still Cirencester’s biggest venue, now fully reopened with top acts right on your doorstep.
