Choristers delight in their return to singing
After sixteen silent months, Cirencester Choral Society members rejoiced in the opportunity to meet and sing again when the Covid restrictions were lifted in July. The choir doesn’t usually meet in summer but this year extra sessions were arranged to oil rusty voices and rediscover the joy of singing together. All attending had been double-jabbed and extra safety precautions were in place to minimise risk and boost confidence.
Now the choir is looking forward to resuming its autumn programme on 7 September and working towards its come-back concert of Great Choral Classics in the Parish Church on Saturday 6 November. The programme will comprise shorter pieces rather than one long mass or oratorio, so, if any singers are interested in joining, this is an ideal time to get involved. The choir currently has vacancies in all parts and you can apply for membership via the ‘Join Us’ page of its website https://www.cirencester-choral-soc.org.uk/.
