Be inspired by Purusha ‘P’, local mum of two and a world record breaker, who will tell us why rowing 2,700 miles across the Pacific Ocean taught her self-belief.
Ocean Sheroes, a four woman team, completed the challenge to row unsupported across the Pacific Ocean in June 2021. Dubbed as one of the world’s toughest challenges, the team completed the race in record time, breaking both the previous men’s and women’s world records.
In an 8.5m x 1.5m boat, the team rowed 2 hours on, 2 hours off 24/7 the team battled big weather, fatigue, seasickness and preparing for this challenge during a global pandemic.
“It was exhilarating, exhausting, empowering and extraordinary”
P will share stories, reflections from her time at sea, her personal journey to the start line, and how a change in mindset took her from depressed and overweight to becoming a world record holder.
P believes any challenge in life starts with “being brave and saying yes” and how breaking through the fear and a positive mindset can lead to remarkable changes in life.
