It’s a miserable wet Sunday but I have good news for you to cheer you up
Last night, February 12th, we raised £1,501.70 at our Curry Quiz! Amazing.
You were all so very generous buying raffle tickets, and we thank you for being such wonderful supporters
Thanks to Ruth we nearly sold all the jams we had last night; we hope you enjoy them. Philippa is delighted and is already busy making more jams as I type this
She has almost got through her jars which stockpiled through lockdown and is now ready to receive any small jam jars again please.
I have a Macmillan crate specifically for the jam jars outside our house 1 The Maples, Chesterton, GL7 1TQ you can drop jars into it anytime you are in the area or give to any committee member you know. Thank you.
It is with great sadness we have learnt Gerald Elphick died yesterday. Although unexpected, it was peacefully, at home in his sleep.
Many of you knew him when he was our Quiz Master who for many years entertained us with his humour and occasional burst of song, others will know him as a personal friend, and also from the many organisations he belonged to, his love of singing, and the performances we enjoyed when he belonged to the Cirencester Operatic Society.
Our thoughts are with Rosemary and all the family. His funeral will be Monday March 7th 1.30 pm at Stratton Church. Rosemary is asking people to wear an item of bright clothing.
Natter & Chatter
We restarted our Natter and Chatter on the 2nd February and it was well attended at Foracoffee, Castle Street, they were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us.
Next Natter & chatter is 2 March, I won’t be there this time, but Sue Hall from the group will be there to meet and greet you. Everyone’s welcome please do drop in and stay as long as you like.
Next Quiz night is 12 November with Bangers & Mash Supper
We are planning a Macmillan Sunday Roast and will be back with date and more information later in the year
Take care and thank you again for your support
