THURSDAY 2ND JUNE 2022
Kick off your weekend of Celebration by donning your Red, White & Blue (Optional) and visiting the Abbey Grounds for a FREE TO ALL Red, White & Blue themed FAMILY FUN DAY AND PICNIC!
Cirencester Community Development Trust (CCDT) has organised the event which will run from 11.00 – 20.00. Various musicians will provide entertainment throughout the day (Cirencester Band will have two slots!!).
Activities for youngsters, provided by Play Gloucestershire and Circus Antics, will start after lunch at 13.00 (You really don’t want an aspiring juggler spinning his clubs into your picnic!!) and will run through the afternoon and into early evening.
Bring your own picnic from home or pickup something once you are in town. There are so many delicious food outlets to choose from.
If you fancy a break from sitting in the Abbey Grounds then the Parish church in the Market Place will be hosting a Jubilee Flower Festival – COLOURS OF THE CROWN from 2nd – 4th June.
As the day winds down, do wander into the town, maybe attend the CIVIC SERVICE in our PARISH CHURCH OF ST JOHN BAPTIST at 8pm, but make sure you return to the Market Place when the sun goes down for the lighting of the town’s JUBILEE BEACON (approximately 21.45).
Then either head home to put the kids to bed, to party some more, or head in to town to frequent the many wonderful local eateries and hostelries.
For other local activities over the weekend (e.g. at the Open Air Pool, at Watermoor Church) do check the CCDT website https://www.cirencdt.org.uk/ and websites of other local organisations
