Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition. This means that it causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time.
1 in 37 people alive today in the UK will be diagnosed with Parkinson’s in their lifetime.
There’s currently no cure for Parkinson’s, but there are lots of different treatments, therapies and support available to help manage the condition.
The Cirencester & Stroud Branch of Parkinson’s UK is for people with, affected by, living with, or caring for someone with Parkinson’s in our area. We can provide information, support, activities for our members, as well as fundraising for research.
If you are interested in joining our Branch, or want to volunteer to help with fundraising or activities, then please email us at: cirenstroudpuk@yahoo.com
The branch covers the Cirencester and Stroud areas. Members meet up regularly in Cirencester, Cam / Dursley and Stroud, for members meetings, coffee mornings, lunches, and various activities that help to stimulate the brain and for social pleasure.
Member meetings are at St Lawrence’s Church Hall, Countess Lillias Rd, Cirencester (3rd Monday of every month at 2pm)
As a national registered charity, we are transparent on all aspects of funding. Raising funds that allow the charity to function and support people affected by or living with Parkinson’s is difficult in today’s world. Donations of time, facilities, resources and ideas are all very welcome from the community. Promoting Parkinson’s amongst all other charities requires constant energy, determination and patience.
We are reaching out to Cirencester community and commerce for on-going assistance to help us provide to our members interesting talks, activities, venues to visit (disabled access) or suitable donations. Please get in touch.

***We are looking to recruit a couple of volunteers for our committee:
A Treasurer and a Membership Secretary***
If anyone is interested in these roles, could they contact me on this email address?
