CCoC: Chamber Christmas Social

Chamber Christmas Social

We had a very successful Christmas Social on the 7th December at the Growth Hub. Despite below freezing temperatures outside, almost 100 people turned up to support the event, and to quaff bubbles and nibbles, as well as several food and drink samples from the stalls. True to our ethos of supporting local businesses, we had invited local food, drink and craft companies to showcase and sell their wares throughout the evening.

This went down very well with the guests who spent freely on beautiful gifts to give for Christmas – and some to keep for themselves!

The companies present included Daniel Fortt Wood Craft, author Sarah Townsend, Non Solo Pasta, Project Cakery, Jen Winnett Art, Arty Crafty Little Monkeys, Cotswold Lakes Brew Co., Liquerious, Sow Your Own Seeds, National Foundation for Retired Service Animals Calendars (NFRSA) and Kyeburn Metal Designs,

They all generously donated items from their stalls to the fantastic raffle, which raised £165 for Cirencester Food Bank.

The evening was very cheerful and industrious, and Chamber President Adam Vines gave a rousing end of year speech whilst balancing precariously on two round pedestal tables which were close to collapse at any moment – I believe bets were being placed on the odds of his survival (only joking) but he made it through in one piece in the end.

It was a fantastic event that took an incredible amount of organisation by Chamber Secretary Sarah Somers, Vice President Hannah Hockley, but the most credit must go to Joint Vice President Fran Coulter who led the planning and execution of it. Well done!

You can see the full range of photos of the guests and stallholders, plus links to their websites, on the Chamber Facebook page facebook.com/CCoCChat.
