My name is Olha but please call me Olive.
I came from Ukraine to Cirencester when the war started with my 3 kids to start a new life with new people around. So far, I find the Cotswolds very welcoming and friendly, like a big supportive family. I’m trying to be useful and settle my path in work. I’m an artist, and I was doing portraits and illustration to commission in Ukraine. I’m dreaming to continue to do what I love most, and make happy people around me with my art.
I’m passionate about people, their stories, and expressing their personalities and I enjoy reflecting it in my art. Every person is unique for me, worthy of attention and to be painted. I like to create realistic truth in my painting but with expressive contemporary brush strokes, and concentration on the most important details.
I work in oil media and charcoal. But for the very refined details I go for coloured pencil with the high lightfast qualities which can be displayed for 100 years without fading. My favourite sizes to produce are A3 and A2 but we can discuss your individual needs.
I work from photographs which I do myself (to capture the light perfectly) with a client visit. Or if this is impossible, I can work with client’s own photographs. Portraits are available at a competitive price.
