New Cotswolds book Just Launched

A new book full of interesting, quirky and little-known information about the Cotswolds was launched a couple of weeks ago.

The official launch of ‘100 Facts, Myths and Legends About The Cotswolds’ was Saturday (29th April) at the Corinium Museum in Cirencester as part of the Cotswold Wool Weekend.  Authors Matt Cass and Paul James were at the Museum between 12-1pm, signing copies of the book which retails at £9.99.

The Cotswold book is the second that the pair have published, following the success of ‘100 Facts, Myths and Legends About Gloucester’ which first went to print in 2021.  Matt Cass is a director of family-owned insurance brokers, Cass-Stephens Insurances, in Gloucester and walked the 102-mile Cotswold Way national trail in the early 2000s.  Paul James works for Cotswold District Council as its Economic Development Lead and was Leader of Gloucester City Council from 2007-19.

Matt Cass said, “We’re really looking forward to launching the book officially and it’s a real honour to be able to do it at such a prestigious location as The Corinium Museum which, without giving too much away, does feature in the book.”

Paul James added, “It seemed logical after coming up with the concept of the ‘100 Facts, Myths and Legends’ series of books that The Cotswolds should be one of the areas we featured first.  I’ve learnt quite a bit about the area working for the District Council over the last few years, but while researching this book I’ve learnt a great deal more!  It’s such a special area with some wonderful stories.”

The book is for sale in the Corinium Museum shop and the Tetbury Visitor Centre, as well as on Amazon and the authors hope that other venues in the Cotswolds will start to stock it over the coming months.
