Put your best foot forward for young people with disabilities and transform lives with every step
On Sunday 6 April 2025, National Star is holding their fourth sponsored Sunrise Walk.
National Star is a specialist further education college that provides life-changing support and education to young people with complex disabilities, helping them gain independence and thrive. Taking part in this fundraising event will raise vital funds that will support young people with disabilities to lead active, fulfilling lives.
Every student who studies at National Star receives an individualised program to support their personal goals, focusing on what they can do and what they wish to achieve.
Before joining National Star, Lucy struggled to be in social settings, often refusing to go inside her school. Now Lucy lives independently and oversees her medication. Lucy’s parents shared, ‘Without National Star Lucy would not have dreamed of leaving home and becoming independent.’
We are inviting you to sign up for National Star’s sponsored Sunrise Walk. There are two routes to choose from, a more challenging 13k route and a 3k route suitable for people with limited mobility, those using sturdy electric powered wheelchairs or children and pushchairs.
Both routes set off from Ullenwood, Cheltenham, GL53 9QU at 5.40am in the dark. Everyone will greet the sunrise looking over Cheltenham. All participants will receive a well-earned breakfast bap upon completion. Registration is £20 per adult which covers the event set-up costs and we ask each participant to raise a minimum of £50 sponsorship.
All the money raised will go towards providing equipment, resources, and facilities for students at National Star.
