On the 31st January 2023, Cirencester Housing for Young People, had the pleasure of receiving Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex. The Countess was accompanied by CHYPS Vice Chairman Maggie Edney on a tour of the Project on Querns Lane in Cirencester. As well as meeting Phillip Beckerlegge, Sue Herdman, Founders Jane Gunner, Honorary Secretary, The Countess spent much of the visit with Residents of the project (Lacey, Katie, Matty, Liam and Kyra.) finding out about their lives before and about their lives since moving to CHYP. Also invited for the visit was ex resident Paul Hutton who last year took to the sky to wing walk to raise money for CHYP.

The Countess met staff and visitors and unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the visit. In attendance were Millie Curtis, Supported Housing General Manager, Tom Watmore Deputy General Manager, Luanne Bond, Senior Supported Housing Officer, Sharryn Watkins, Supported Housing Office, Julie Gardner, Senior Supported Housing Assistant and Caroline Harris Supported Housing Assistant, Claire Simone Policies and Procedure Manager and Rebecca Cotton Fundraising Manager.
