Entertainment Whats On

April is an outstanding month for music documentaries at Barn Cinema.

Baz Luhrmann brings a fresh perspective to Elvis Presley in Concert, a vibrant showcase built from never-before-seen Las Vegas footage. Described as “colourful, electric and boisterously enjoyable,” it finally does the King justice—revealing Elvis at his most dazzling, yet disarmingly vulnerable. Make it your Sunday morning treat.

Equally revealing is Man On The Run, charting Paul McCartney’s journey from the shock of The Beatles’ breakup to his reaction to John Lennon’s death. Combining rare film, striking photography and exclusive interviews, this documentary has earned universal acclaim from critics around the world.

Emerald Fennell’s “Wuthering Heights” reimagines Brontë’s classic with an experimental soundtrack by Charli XCX. It’s a wild, destructive romance that rewards an open mind and a taste for bold cinema.

The Testament of Ann Lee uses traditional Shaker hymns and mesmerising choreography to portray a visionary leader who preached gender and social equality with passionate conviction.

Incidental music also plays a starring role. Sacha Distel features on the soundtrack of Nouvelle Vague, Richard Linklater’s affectionate tribute to the making of Godard’s Breathless, shot in the same daring spirit as the original. Then there’s GOAT—the uplifting story of a tiny goat with big dreams and a Hip-Hop and R&B soundtrack to match. And don’t miss Is This Thing On?, where a comedian based on John Bishop faces middle age and a crumbling marriage by launching himself onto the stand-up circuit—complete with an unforgettable Queen and David Bowie needle drop.

Each of these films proves how music transforms and enhances storytelling. Experience them all in Dolby stereo at Barn Cinema and feel how music makes the difference.

Book early to catch these unmissable screenings.
