As we approach the twilight of the 2024 season the Barn Theatre, Cirencester’s penultimate production will definitely have you on the edge of your seat. Based on the Ghost stories of M.R. James, ROOM 13 is the Barn’s first foray into the supernatural. What more will you want for Halloween than a little scare!
In a lonely hotel, four strangers are forced to spend the night in Room 13. Bearing the weight of their own grief, shame and darkness, they come to realise that Room 13 has secrets of its own.
As the four solitary souls develop unexpected bonds, they each share something from their past that still haunts them – stories of a painting that conceals a horrific secret; a macabre song that whispers in the depths of night, and children’s voices that echo from a forgotten well.
As the veil between the present and the past, the living and the dead, becomes frayed, the new companions will have to face their darkest fears if they are ever to escape Room 13…
Christmas is Just Around the Corner!
This year’s Festive production takes on a whole new twist of glamour and excitement with world renowned, Cotswold favourite, LAURENCE LLEWELYN -BOWEN taking charge of designing the set and costumes for what is promised to be an utterly lavish feast for the eyes, you won’t want to miss!
Laurence said of his involvement:
“I’m struggling to contain my excitement. My head is filled to the brim of main character cavalier design. There’ll be more feathers, floppier cuffs, twirlier moustaches and more panache than the Cotswolds has seen since I moved here 18 years ago. I’m loving supporting The Barn Theatre it’s been such a phenomenal success story which we Cirencester residents are so proud of.”
The Barn’s Christmas musicals always sell out. This year in particular, demand is set to go through the roof with Laurence’s inclusion.
