The Cirencester Science and Technology Society (CSTS) brings you fascinating live lectures every second Wednesday from September through June, plus exclusive visits to research facilities and scientific institutions.
Annual membership costs just £15. Meetings are free to members and £3 for visitors. Students are free.
Everyone is welcome—whether you’re a working scientist, retired professional, educator, engineer, or simply someone curious about how our world works. Our diverse community of over 200 members spans from Stroud to Cheltenham to Malmesbury and is united by a shared passion for discovery.
What makes CSTS special? We focus on current breakthroughs and emerging technologies that matter today. Our carefully curated program covers everything from space exploration and climate science to medical advances and engineering innovations, ensuring there’s something to spark every curious mind.
Meetings take place at 7:30pm, at the Royal Agricultural University. It’s more than just lectures – it’s a chance to connect with like-minded people and engage directly with researchers who are pushing the boundaries of knowledge.
We also do two visits each year – for example next summer it will be to Campden BRI. Campden BRI is the world’s largest independent membership-based food and drink research organization. It provides scientific, technical, and legislative support and research to the food and drink industry globally.
With over 2,600 member companies across 80 countries, Campden BRI offers a wide range of services including analysis, testing, operational support, research, innovation, and knowledge management.
