New Leader Appointed for Cirencester Eating Disorders Support Group (founded 2003)

This group has been meeting in Coates village hall for the last few years but now with a change of facilitator the venue will change. Mrs Pat Ayres MBE, who is the founder and leader since 2003, is relieved and pleased to announce that she has a mum and daughter who are very keen to run the group into the future.

The family attended the group over four years ago when the bombshell of an eating disorder had taken over all their lives. The daughter was so poorly she had to be hospitalised and spent several weeks away from her family. She had to go out of County for specialised care. Eventually she knew through her recovery she wanted to help others and now at nearly 18 years old she would be an excellent role model to the younger generation and with her mum they would be experts by experience.

Pat realised that she must retire from her leadership role at the right time and be very sensitive to small yet important signals which told her that it is time to stand down.

With her 80th birthday looming and having been constant for nearly 22 years as facilitator of the group which she founded in 2003 she felt she has had her peak years and has done her bit!

Pat will still be there as and when, if needed, and will signpost both sufferers and carers if she is contacted.

The new contacts are:

The meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of the month in Cherington village hall   7 The Green, Cherington near Tetbury Glos. GL8 8SP
