Sherlock Holmes and the Whitechapel Fiend

The Barn Theatre opens its 2024 season with a new comedy adventure, SHERLOCK HOLMES and the WHITECHAPEL FIEND. The show runs from 26th JANUARY – 9th MARCH.
Everyone needs a “pick me up” after Christmas and New Year, so this show will be the perfect tonic! Think other hilarious Barn productions like, 39 Steps, Around the World in 80 Days, Murder For Two and you’ll get the sense of fun an up lifting enjoyment that this show will bring.
A brand-new comedy adventure, in which Conan Doyle’s fictional Victorian London collides with the Whitechapel Murders. A hysterical mix of Basil Rathbone, The Thirty-Nine Steps, Extras, and Cunk on Britain, combined with the technical wizardry of the Barn will create a thrilling, theatrical, laugh a minute spectacular, not to be missed.
Written by Toby Hulse (The Barn Theatre’s comedy hit, Around the World in Eighty Days) and Ross Smith, Sherlock Holmes and the Whitechapel Fiend is set to be another side-splitting crowd pleaser.
The piece will be directed by Drama Desk Award nominee Adam Meggido (Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Olivier Award Winner, Showstopper! The Improvised Musical), who commented: “As a lifelong fan of the Sherlock Holmes canon, I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Toby Hulse and the Barn on a new outing for the great detective. This is a playful and provocative new piece of work, and I’m looking forward to starting 2024 with a bold theatrical bang.”
Hulse added: “I am so excited to be working with the Barn again, after its fantastic production of Around the World in Eighty Days. Sherlock Holmes and the Whitechapel Fiend is an extraordinary and unexpected new adventure for the world’s greatest detective, and with the exceptional talents of Adam Meggido as director, the show promises to be thrilling, wildly imaginative, and very, very funny.”
