Local community charity The Churn Project has been awarded £428,526 in National Lottery funding to support its work over the next three years in and around Cirencester. The charity will use the ongoing funding to run its Community Wellbeing Service, which supports people struggling with poor mental health, wellbeing and employment issues.
The Churn Project, started in 2001, supports anyone in the community who is at a point of crisis or transition in their lives or experiencing loneliness or mental health issues. Last year it directly supported 1,550 people from across the community through a mix of group activities and one-to-one support.
The continued funding from The National Lottery Community Fund will enable The Churn Project to carry on finding practical solutions to the issues people face, improve their wellbeing and make them feel less isolated. Our Community Wellbeing support includes mental health walking groups, community shed projects in South Cerney and Cirencester, young people creative groups, employability support and wellbeing programmes.
