Thanks to the support from the local community, Cirencester Male Voice Choir has been able to give major donations to five local charities.
The charities set to benefit include a range of causes that aim to support individuals and families in need within the Cirencester area.
“We have been able to give monies to The Holly Gazzard Trust, the Cirencester Opportunity Group, the Cirencester Citizens Advice Bureau, the Oak and Furrows Wildlife Centre and the Cirencester Branch of Parkinson’s UK,” said Chairman Mark Pratley. “Our success would not be possible without the amazing support of our wonderful audience members.
Cirencester Opportunity Centre Manager Cath Fowler said, “We were overwhelmed by the generosity of this large donation, which will certainly help to continue our important work with young children and families in our town, thank you so much”. COG works directly with local families, specialising in supporting children with special educational needs, as well as support for the whole family.
In addition to these charitable donations, the Cirencester Male Voice Choir is announcing two major charity concerts set for 2025, featuring three renowned Welsh choirs. The first will be on Saturday July 12 when they will be joined by two Welsh choirs – the award winning Parti Llchwr ladies’ choir and the Morriston Rugby Club male choir.
And on December 6 the Gwalia Singers from Swansea and they will be joined by the fabulous Willshire Piano Duo who have helped pack the Parish Church each time they play.
“The Cirencester Male Voice Choir has been growing in numbers, and we’re incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made. It’s not just about the music; it’s about the difference we can make in the community,” said James Willshire, Musical Director of the choir.”
