The current Chair is retiring after Christmas, and they are looking for an experienced and committed individual to lead the Board.
Founded in 1869 and a registered charity since 1983, the pool is now a vibrant and much-loved community asset with exciting plans for the future. The team of dedicated volunteers and staff ensure visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience, and in 2023 the volunteer team received the King’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest national honour for volunteers.
They are looking for a Chair who can provide strong leadership, ensure good governance, and guide the charity’s strategic direction. All trustees are expected to uphold the Nolan Principles of Public Life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.
This is a voluntary role, offering meaningful personal and professional rewards and the chance to make a lasting contribution to the local community.

Current Chair Jennie Hale says:
“The pool is an extraordinary place – so many things to so many people. We hope to find a Chair who will help it continue to bring joy to our town and communities for another 155 years.”
