Penny’s Picks
Hello, I am Penny Carpenter and I am the presenter of What’s On: Penny’s Picks on Cirencester Radio.
Presenting this show is honestly, pure joy. Each month, I get to tell listeners all about the events coming up in Cirencester and the surrounding villages. I speak to charities, fundraisers, prize winners, local businesses and community groups.
This year alone I have had over 10 guests on the show including Caroline Bradley, author of ‘Making Tracks’ (seen in the photo), Charlotte Lane from Gloucestershire Young Carers, Meg Blumson from the Phoenix Gardeners and Andrea Bankes from Charlie’s Community Support.
Much of my time is spent researching events, inviting people to record an interview with me and selecting the music for my show. I try to include at least two interviews each month and around eight music tracks, the remaining time is me chatting away letting listeners know what’s happening and where. The music choices usually include something very current, picks made by my guests, something suitable for the season and of course some personal favourites. I am also very fortunate to have Crumps Barn Studios sponsor my show.
Each month I am truly blown away by all the things Cirencester has to offer, whatever your interest, there is something for you to enjoy and support. Do tune in to my show to find out more. You can listen live on the third Wednesday of the month at 8pm or go to our website, click on the Listen Again tab and select Penny Carpenter to hear my current and past shows. Whilst you are there do listen in to some of the other shows on offer. They are great!
If you have an event coming up and would like me to mention it on the show then please do let me know: pennycarpenter@cirencesterradio.co.uk and if you are interested in joining us whether it be presenting a show, working on our social media or producing our output then do get in touch via our website.
