New York comes to Cirencester as Friends the Musical rolls into town on the 14th July. The cult comedy gets its preview at the Barn before a full UK tour.
Audiences can expect all the iconic moments wrapped up in one fun nostalgic comedy musical. We caught up with Matthew Gale the producer of the show to get an insight into what to expect.
“We’re hugely excited to be working with the Barn. There is a joy and magic in this show you can really feel. The audience can look forward to something special. And it’s not just about entertainment. Every show has to connect with an audience or an audience emotionally. So there has to be a truth in it. And there’s a fantastic truth in Friends. They’re a group of people who create a family from the friendships they make. Friends for life. Friends they can rely on whatever happens.
I think the audience will all have their own memories of the original show. This production will be full of nostalgic moments. They will definitely be entertained, they’ll laugh, they’ll hopefully sing a long a bit and come out embracing how important friendship is in life.”
FRIENDS is a show-stopping, fast-paced, original musical that brings Ross, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, and Rachel back into your life in a whole new way, singing, dancing, and reminding us why we can’t get enough of their wacky misadventures in 1990’s Manhattan. For those who are fans of the series, this is a must see!
