Coming up at the Barn Cinema July and August 2025

Looking back is the new normal. Disney have brought us a live-action remake of 2002’s Lilo and Stitch, a ‘lonely girl meets alien’ tale which is wowing a whole new generation. The Karate Kid franchise has brought Ralph Macchio (from the 80s) and Jackie Chan (2010) together for a light-touch reboot that will introduce more children to the martial arts. Tom Cruise starts The Final Reckoning by looking back over the Mission: Impossible series that started in 1996, before giving audiences his most breathtaking stunts ever. Flame has been reissued to celebrate 50 years as possibly the best pop movie ever made, with a great soundtrack from Slade. Sinners also has a great soundtrack and is set in the 1930s with an original story that involves vampires, racism and much more.

Mr Burton proved very popular in June. This is the wartime tale of a teacher who loves theatre and supports a student to achieve his acting ambitions. Set in Port Talbot, we are showing this again with subtitles to aid hard-of-hearing audiences and those who struggle with regional dialects.  Finally, we have The Salt Path, a true story set in 2013, which is an uplifting tale about finding hope and healing in the most unusual of places. An additional screening also has subtitles.
