Men Behaving Badly in Cirencester
The long-awaited 2026 season at the Barn kicks off with a dose of comedy nostalgia as it presents the world premiere of Men Behaving Badly: The Play. Written by the sitcom’s original creator Simon Nye, the show revisits Gary, Tony, Dorothy and Deborah on New Year’s Eve 1999 as they prepare for a wedding against the backdrop of the millennium bug and plenty of familiar mischief.
The production runs from 30 January to 7 March 2026, promising fans of the classic British sitcom – and newcomers here for the 90s vibes – a lively theatre experience full of pints, fireworks and chaotic camaraderie.

The Barn want to thank their Christmas audiences who, inspired by the enduring message of A Christmas Carol, gave so generously to their Christmas charity partner, Cirencester Pantry. Across the show’s run audiences raised £17,287 for the Pantry, who help those in the community struggling with food insecurity whilst promoting social cohesion through food and eliminating food waste. These donations allowed the Pantry to open up to their waiting list and will help pay their expenses through 2026.
Officially one of the UK’s most influential theatres
In January the Barn was recognised in the prestigious The Stage 100 list – the definitive list of the 100 most influential figures in UK theatre and the performing arts. Iwan Lewis, Artistic Director and CEO, and Liam McMullan, Executive Director and Producer, were named on the list, a remarkable accolade for a regional producing house that is completely unsubsidised. The Barn was one of only three theatres in the South West to make the list, proudly flying the flag for our Cotswold home and what we’re capable of.
