The Barn Theatre renew their relationship with Sir Michael Morpurgo with their sixth production since wowing audiences since 2019 with the likes of THE BUTTERFLY LION, THE MOZART QUESTION, PRIVATE PEACEFUL, AN ELEPHANT IN THE GARDEN and WAITING FOR ANYA.
This production is no exception, and will be another family favourite, and the perfect Easter treat. The Barn has assembled an award-winning team of creatives to build what is described as an “incredible visual spectacle.” The extra ordinary story of family, history and heroism is combined with brilliant set design, lighting and sound for an unparalleled immersive audience experience for all ages.
Set and costume designer YOAV SEGAL said: “In the Mouth of the Wolf is a remarkable play with incredible heart, authenticity and drama and bringing it to the stage has been a brilliant challenge. There are so many different locations, explosive set-pieces and atmospheric moments. The WW2 film references, film noir styling and espionage infuse the piece with palpable excitement. Finding creative ways to bring it all to life is what theatre is made for!”
In the Mouth of the Wolf is based on a true story of Michael’s uncles. A tribute to bravery, and a reminder of the human spirit’s resilience. When the former Children’s Laurette chose to tell his uncle’s story, he wasn’t simply sharing history—he was giving a voice to the untold heroes, the families left behind, and the sacrifices made for freedom.
This will be a magical night out that will transport you to another time and place, offering a Michael Morpurgo classic that is both uplifting and unforgettable.
