Q: Who is ready for Christmas?

A: Cirencester, of course!

It seems like everyone is gearing up for Christmas already so, let’s get started with Cirencester.  First off, there’s a new song just released ‘Christmas in the Cotswolds’ with Cirencester taking a bit of a star turn and, if you really want to get in the mood, there’s also an arrangement for choirs to perform. Cirencester Radio would LOVE to play your version so, just let me know when you are ready: caroleboydell@CirencesterRadio.co.uk

Then there is the Advent Tree Festival in the Parish Church with lots of community groups and businesses showing their creative side and designing a tree. Pop in to see all these wonderful examples of celebration of Christmas between Wednesday 27th November to Wednesday 11th December. And, coinciding with this, hear Canon Graham and the new organist, Thomas, in conversation on Cirencester Radio, along with their choice of festive music.

But I would like to end with a thank you to all those who took part in the amazing Community Upstart week – it couldn’t have happened without you! From Robert Heaven launching the week talking about Old Cirencester, to local artist Laurie Plant; military history, to the discovery of a Mammoth graveyard; vintage tea-party, to an historic cycle route; and Cirencester music icons, to the story of a local photographer who became a star in her own right.

Thank you everyone.
