This book describes and illustrates the principal landforms of the North Cotswolds, and how the scenery which we see today evolved through the last 2.5 million years. The processes of erosion and weathering are discussed, together with man’s impact on the landscape, and a series of walks which illustrate many of the features described are included.
It is written for the interested layperson, but the illustrated examples could also be useful for A Level and First-year University Geography students.
The book is A5 in format and contains 152 pages and 146 colour illustrations. Copies can be obtained at a price of £9.00 inc postage and packing, from the Gloucestershire Naturalists’ Society (GNS):
