And what better way to mark it than by naming a hare… take the children along to Cirencester Park, follow the Easter trail and find the hare at the Old Kennels who needs a name! It forms part of the Cirencester HARE Trail all around Cirencester – you may have seen other hares such as the one called Horace in the Market Place.
Calling everyone who loves music from the movies. On 17th April, Cirencester Parish Church is hosting over an hour of cinema’s most iconic music with a live chamber orchestra illuminated by light! Hear tunes from ET, Harry Potter, James Bond and more. Check out http://www.cirenparish.co.uk for tickets.
Now, did you know there are 74 flower tubs all around Cirencester? These, together with 31 hanging baskets are all lovingly tended by 50 volunteer Phoenix Gardeners. It’s a busy time of the year – and an expensive one – as each tub costs in the region of £30 to maintain. Could you help? Donate or volunteer, you would be most welcome. Find out more at http://www.phoenixgardeners.org
And finally, a puzzle! Take a look at the photograph on this page. Why is an artwork hidden in a black bin bag? Why has it been taken from a National Trust country house in full sight? What have open water swimming, Scottish lochs and Venice in common with Cirencester? All will be revealed on 7th April when the Daniel Bingham Gallery on Dyer Street opens its newest exhibition, curated by Laurie Plant. See you there!
With just a few days left to nominate your favourite group for a Cirencester Community Award, get your skates on fast!
