CRUK Relay for Life

Relay For Life is a community festival celebrating the power of fundraising in the fight to beat cancer.

Teams fundraise for life-saving cancer research then unite at a weekend-long festival to honour everyone who has been affected by cancer. The festival is focused around a 24-hour relay where team members take it in turns to walk around a track to show that together we will beat cancer. Join us as we unite to honour Survivors of cancer and celebrate a year of incredible fundraising.  There will be music and activities throughout the 24 hour event and a Candle of Hope ceremony to honour every life touched by cancer in the evening.

Sharon Scrivens caught the Relay bug in 2000 when she joined the Gunbusters Team in Portsmouth’s Relay For Life, Portsmouth was the first ever Relay in the UK. Sharon, the committee members and friends put in their own team in Portsmouth’s Relay, where in 2010 we won most money raised, £20,000 and 2012 we won the prestigious ‘Best Tent’ award. Sharon brought Relay For Life to Cirencester in 2017, since then our community has raised over £438,171.00.

This may be the last Relay For Life in Cirencester for a while and we want to go out with a bang, the Theme this year is ‘FESTIVALS’ come and join us. Entry is free, simply join our Relay by starting a team, joining a team or by taking part as a survivor.
