Somewhere Else Writers (SEW) Mar 24: Selwyn Morgan

Selwyn Morgan

Selwyn Morgan is a long-standing member of the group.

When he’s sitting down he writes fiction, short-stories and poems. He’s our current Chairman and has recently enjoyed a sabbatical in the Antipodes and Hong-Kong! Throughout his career he’s travelled to the Middle-East and visited the Americas.

Selwyn’s creativity has often extended to performing in both Drama and Musical Theatre, and he’s a valuable member of the group in advising on writing for stage and radio. Other members have experience in published journalism, web-blogs and non-fiction, so there is almost no aspect of authorship that remains beyond the scope of the group

In 2022 Selwyn’s first novel, “Going Up Camborne Hill” was published (available from Amazon Books). It is from this novel that his featured poem is extracted.

You can read this poem, The Serpent Ring, and much more from Selwyn and the group at somewhere-else-writers.org

Building spoil heaps of its triumphs, or grave- pits
for its fame, each fractal of existence spawned
a fractal once again, – from a minuet to jig.
Each spiral lost in the spiral whole, each
dance serene, until the final blow,
turns a minuet to…
