Introducing our Radio Presenters
I’m Pat O’Carroll, and for the past 10 years or so I have presented a weekly show dedicated to country music.
I have been a big fan of country music since my youth, and over the years I have been lucky enough to see many country music stars perform live.
As well as attending country music concerts in the UK, including the annual International Festival of Country Music that music impresario Mervin Conn organised between 1969 and 1992, along with the more recent, and now 3 day long event that is Country to Country.
I have also visited Nashville on several occasions to visit the Grand Ole Opry, the country music radio show which celebrated its 100th Anniversary this year by being staged at the Royal Albert Hall.
Whilst I do play today’s hits from today’s country music stars, most of my playlists are made up of hits from the country stars of yesteryear, largely taken from my own CD collection.
Mind you, it isn’t all about American singers, as I regularly include tracks by Irish singers who have recorded country music.
Country music is more popular now in the UK that at any time in history, so do please join me each Thursday evening at 7 pm for my show Classic Country.
