If you thought July was busy – just wait till you see what’s coming up in August in our wonderful Cirencester…
You might just catch Raw Talent (ends 8 Aug) at New Brewery Arts – a free exhibition featuring work created by NBA students over the past year including ceramics, stone carving, drawing, painting, textiles, jewellery and more. And if this whet your own creative appetite, sign up for Autumn Term craft courses beginning September. https://www.newbreweryarts.org.uk/courses
There is anew Men’s Talk Space group starting at the CHURN on Monday afternoons and they are also offering one-to-one free IT and digital support for anyone who needs some help. Trying to access online GP appointments, fill out online forms or do more on your phone? Go on…give it a try! Call 01285 380 038.
There are also some great ideas coming up to start celebrating the summertime. There is a bit of a teaser from the Open Air Swimming Pool as they report “the annual Splash Day on 2nd August will be slightly different to usual”, the Town Council is organising a Summer Food Festival over the weekend of 15th and 16th August and then we have the fabulous, amazing, free Phoenix Festival on Bank Holiday weekend 29, 30 August. Every year this community music and arts festival offers two days of music, dance and family fun in the Abbey Grounds, Cirencester so do pop along and join in the fun.
And now to end with a taster of what is coming up in September…Heritage Open Cirencester, hosted by Cirencester Civic Society, will be offering FREE entry to 20 activities and places like Ivy Lodge in Cirencester Park and St James’s Place Roof Garden – as well as family sessions in the Museum. So, make sure you block out your diary now because its only for the weekend of 11, 12, 13th September 2026. Details from www.CirencesterCivicSociety.org.uk
