I’M SORRY PRIME MINISTER, I CAN’T QUITE REMEMBER, AT THE BARN THEATRE CIRENCESTER, TAKES THE COTSWOLDS BY STORM!

The Barn Theatre’s world exclusive production of Jonathan Lynn’s satirical smash hit comedy is breaking all box office records at the Cirencester venue.
With London rehearsals just underway, demand for tickets have been unprecedented since the cast announcement. With still 3 weeks left before the first preview on Friday 22nd September, shows are already selling out, so if you’re looking to come, then it’s advisable to buy tickets as soon as possible!

The cast of four, led by Martin Jarvis and Clive Francis, stars of stage, TV, and film, play the roles of the ex-Prime Minister, Jim Hacker and former Permanent Secretary, Sir Humphrey Appleby, with Michaela Bennison playing Hacker’s carer Sophie and Christopher Bianchi as the High Court Judge Sir David Knell.

Written and directed by Jonathan Lynn co-writer of the Yes Prime Minister series, the final chapter sees how the former PM and erstwhile Cabinet Secretary are faring in their old age. Holed up in his new home at Hacker College, Oxford, Jim finds himself, as ever, in the midst of a set of problems mainly of his own making. Unsure of how to cope, he calls on his old and not so loyal Permanent Secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby. What ensues carries all the hallmarks of classic comedy of the highest level.

The original Yes, Minister series, written by Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn, was first transmitted on BBC2 from 1980 to 1984. A sequel Yes, Prime Minister, ran for 16 episodes from 1986 to 1988. A hugely successful stage play entitled Yes, Prime Minister was premiered at Chichester Festival Theatre in May 2010. The production transferred to the West End where it played at three different theatres and also toured the UK twice to great acclaim. The series received several BAFTAs and in 2004 was voted sixth in the Britain’s Best Sitcom poll.
