Virtual Dementia Tour Bus to visit Elm Grove Bupa Care Home Thursday 20th June 1.30pm to 4.30pm

Elm Grove Bupa Care Home is set to welcome a special visit from a virtual dementia tour bus on 20th June, to give the wider community and residents’ families a first-hand immersive experience as to what it feels like to live with dementia. 

The bus, led by experts from Training2Care, offers a totally immersive, interactive experience via a virtual simulator and educational experience. The bus allows guests to experience dementia first-hand using sensory tools, while experts will be on hand to answer any questions people might have.

The purpose of the bus tour will be to give people a better understanding of the daily challenges faced by those living with dementia. The bus is state-of-the-art and scientifically proven to be as close as possible to life with dementia. 

As a dementia-specialist home, Elm Grove is passionate about giving others a window into the world of living with the condition. The virtual bus will  also serve as an interactive tool to educate families on the reality of loved ones’ needs and therefore help them understand how to better communicate with them.

While this condition is common, not many people truly understand what it means to live with it or how to properly communicate with those living with it. We would love to invite anyone in the community to come and experience this fantastic immersive bus.”

The tour bus will be at Elm Grove Bupa Care Home on 20th June from 1.30pm – 4.30pm.
