Just imagine the worlds you can explore…

Live Theatre is taking a break for a week, so we have extra films on offer and a lot to tell you about.
Kensuke’s Kingdom is animated gold from the pen of Michael Morpurgo about a shipwrecked boy who explores a world of danger and beauty. La Chimera is a modern other-worldly love story set in Tuscany, Lazio and Umbria where Arthur (Josh O’Connor) descends into ‘the underworld’, stealing priceless artefacts. We also have a couple of popcorn favourites, Twisters about tornadoes, and Alien: Romulus a sci-fi horror faithful to the original.
Barn continues to offer screenings of National Theatre Live with a repeat of Noel Coward’s Present Laughter (2019) starring Andrew Scott (Vanya) and three screenings of Prima Facie (2022), with an outstanding performance by Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) as a brilliant barrister. We also have the classic romantic-comedy Roman Holiday (1953) which made a star out of Audrey Hepburn, and a modern rom-com Fly Me to the Moon starring Scarlett Johansson as a Marketing Exec tasked by The White House to ensure that the moon landings are a PR success.
We have a comedy night starting with a rediscovered documentary of Billy Connolly touring Ireland in 1977 wearing Big Banana Feet, followed by some quirky slapstick humour with Hundreds of Beavers, which has to be seen to be believed.
Common Ground is our latest documentary about regenerative agriculture, inspiring farmers to make soil healthier, ‘saving the planet one acre at a time’.
Finally, as the schools go back, a shout-out to two family favourites: Inside Out 2, the best-selling film of the year and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, a cinematic story on an epic scale. Many of these films will inevitably be available to stream but we hope you will come to experience them in the immersive environment of cinema and commit to exploring the vision of the director.
