This month’s poem is called ‘Dear Humankind’ and is Graham’s reaction to the way so much time is spent scrolling through internet content which is often fake, and is not only a waste of time, but also often misleads people into making mistakes. He tends to call it ‘Antisocial Media’.
Graham has just begun his seventy-fifth year of life, and hopes for a better, brighter future for Cirencester after having seen all the changes in and around the town over three quarters of a century.

Dear Humankind,
Having heard from you
That you cannot bear
Very much reality
We are pleased to offer you
Virtual Reality
We now present;
The Safer Alternative;
The Synthetic Answer;
For all your needs.
Reality without the scary bits.
(What’s your take on that!?)
Because you told us
(And it was a big ask!)
You only want scary at the movies
